20:30  Caressing time, time to wander

Since Louis Pasteur linked disease with the presence of microorganisms, design and architecture found a new purpose in the role of a preventive medicine. Creating objects and spaces easy to sterilise, hostile to organisms other-than-human. Out with the unpredictable wild, only the civilised human is allowed inside. The modern home is sleek, efficient and devoid of unnecessary frills and so follows lifestyle. Work, sleep, repeat, even at home, scrolling on your phone turns out to be unpaid work. This monolithic lifestyle reveals itself to be noxious, too much work for our spirit to bear, too clean for our immune system to learn what is an actual toxin.

For Paskamer, Elín Margot invites the audience to bedrot together. This is an engaged inaction against human productivity and a passive initiative to promote the exchange and proliferation of our microorganisms. The messy, bestial will invade the space through a collection of furry objects that promotes the gifting of microorganisms while challenging notions of efficiency.
